Priscilla Ann Bugado Baptista, 71, of Honokaa died July 2 at North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea. Born in Haina, she was a van driver for Akita Enterprise Ltd. and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. George Phillip Curlee, 67, of Keaau died at home on July 2. Born in Tacoma, Wash., he was a retired machinist/mechanic and owner of Curlee’s Auto Repair. Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Sunday, July 14, from 4-5 p.m.; Funeral service at 5 p.m., followed by cremation. Casual attire, no flowers. Patrick Joseph McHugh, 87, of Hilo died June 23 at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Boston, Mass., he was retired from the U.S. Navy as an aircraft machinist with numerous awards and medals, bartender at the former Kona Village Resort and a power plant supervisor with the former Hilo Coast Processing Company. Private services held, with scattering of ashes at a later date. Survived by step-daughters, Grace “Gracie” (Dereck) Dehmer of Papaikou; Gail “Kaila” (Tarael) Aloha Dehmer of Hawaiian Acres; step-sons, Eric “Ricky” (Pattie) Dehmer of Hilo, Walter “Kimo” (Deborah) Dehmer of Captain Cook, Lynn (Sunee) Dehmer of Kukuihaele, Robert “Bobby” Dehmer of Kona; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous hanai family and friends. Jessie Provost, 63, of Honokaa died June 30 at her home. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was retired from the construction industry. Private services planned. Robert Kaiwa Punihaole Sr., 90, of Kalaoa, Kona, died June 20. Born in Kaukaweli, North Kona, he was a Hawaiian cultural advisor at Kuki‘o. He was a supervisor for Kona Shield Pacific; a heavy equipment mechanic for Volcanite; associate director of soil and water conservation of the North and South Kona districts; past president of the Kona Lions Club; past commander of the American Legion; member of the Keopu Kumiai and the Kona Young Farmers; and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Francis Yoichi Ryusaki, 78, of Waimea died July 2 at his home. Born in Honokaa, he was retired from the County of Hawaii Department of Water Supply, and also worked for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Prince Beach Hotel, a U.S. Air Force and Hawaii Air National Guard veteran and member of the Kamuela Hongwanji Mission, Japanese American Civic Association, Boy Scouts of America, Ju Shin Judo Dojo, and Kamuela Hongwanji Golf Club. Friends may call from 3-4 p.m. Monday at Kamuela Hongwanji Mission; Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers. Michael Lee Makekau Stallard, 51, of Sedona, Ariz., and formerly of Hawaii Island, died Nov. 16 at his home. Born in Kailua, Oahu, he was a construction worker, professional drywall mason and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and ocean sports. Memorial Service to be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Luther Makekau Point in Puna, located between McKinze State Park and Opihikau. Celebration of life potluck to follow at the Baker residence in Leilani Estates. Survived by parents, Joel and Rachel (Makekau) Stallard; siblings, Robert Stallard, Joanna Stallard-Peard, James Stallard, Lori (Frank) Baker, Tina (Rick) DuVoisin; daughter, Sandra Isis Epona Polani (Poni) Gibbons; numerous nieces and nephews.
